Two former detectives, more than sixty years of policing between them, and a shelf of books. Tom Wood and Simon McLean, co-hosts of the Crime Time Inc. podcast, come to Milngavie Library for an evening of stories from real investigations, the cases that shaped them, and the books that came out of it all.
Tom is a former Deputy Chief Constable who spent nearly four decades in the police, much of it in CID. Simon spent his career in CID with Strathclyde, working on the murder squad and undercover. Expect candid insight, dark humour and plenty of time for your questions, with copies of their books available on the night.

Simon McLean
Simon's debut Eddie Weir thriller, in which a retired detective is drawn back to a case that was never properly investigated, and finds that what went wrong was a deliberate choice rather than a mistake. It is a story of organised crime operating across Scotland, the UK and Ireland, alongside the people trusted to stop it.

Tom Wood
Tom's newest book, published in September 2026, collects true stories from Scotland's underbelly, from a hapless group of German spies landed in Scotland during the Second World War to the tale of the country's greatest policeman and its most notorious brothel keeper.
